Day 3

Today we got off to a late start after a wonderful cafe breakfst at Milo's Diner. We drove from around noon till three AM. We had troubles finding an avaliable camp site and had to keep driving and driving and driving. The night drive was AWESOME! and a little scary. We were driving through some forest covered mountains and canyons and we could see a huge thunderstorm in the distance near the horizon. There must have also been a meteor shower because we saw quite a few shooting stars as we were driving. We passed huge herds of elk and buffalo, I would have appreciated this much more if it had been day. Since it was night it was a little scary because we couldnt see them well and did not want to hit one or get charged by one! We finaly found a hotle called Big Horn Hotel in Watson Lake, Yukon Territory. The only room avaliable was a suite with a kitchen, king size bed and a two person Jacuzzi... I'm not complaining!

  1. That was the Persaid Meteor shower. You be able to see it great in Alaska. The best show will be on the 12th between 3am and dusk. We are going to the desert ourselves to view it. When you get a chance I need the password to the phone. I love you guys and I am glad you are having this adventure.
