STarting a blog.

So here we are again, starting another blog....
I've started a few before, for some reason after the first few entries I loose interest and/or things to write about. But, I really like the idea of blogging. SO, here we go again. :D

Today was .... interesting.
But first, lets back up just a little.

About a week ago we were hired at the McKinley Chalet Resort at Denali National Park in Alaska. Jake will be a shuttle driver(no massage jobs available for him, so sad.) and i'll be working at the resort front desk. We start work on May 4th. Cant wait.
So to get there, we decided that our best option is to drive. We bought our car in Nov. for $800 so driving it through 3,000 miles of forests is a little worrisome to say the least. We decided to get it looked at and made an appointment for today at a mechanic in provo.

Then Today.

We took it in and they said that everything looked fine. They recommended an oil change, a transmission flush and a new oil cap. $200. Then, this car has no music aside from the radio.... From my memories of our last drive through Canada, i'm pretty sure that there is NO radio stations in the entire country. 3,000 music-less miles is just not safe for anyone's sanity. So we went to Wal-Mart(as much as i hate to admit it) and bought a lovely car cd player with a place to plug in an Ipod. $50.

This is where it starts to get interesting.

We get home after our $200 tune-up. Feeling good about the condition of our car, we decide to install the new CD player all by ourselves. >.<>
hmmm.....
None of these wires are the colors that they are supposed to be!
And there's even a whole other cord that isnt in the instructions OR the car manual!!
What the!?! So much for that!
So I call around and find a nice little place that will do it for us, for $30. Perfect.

Now, we put the old radio back in place, hook up the battery, and turn the key..... ..... .....

click-click-click-clickety-click-click...... cliiiiiick Wont start.
Strange.

OK, lets charge the battery and try again.
Charge for 20 minutes, turn the key.......

click-click-click-clickety-click-click...... cliiiiiick
Stranger.
Starting to get scared.

OK, lets try jumping it.
click-click-click-clickety-click-click...... cliiiiiick
Strangest.
Very Frightened.

Dad calls, maybe he can help.
Suggests that we clean the corrosion off the battery. We try it. Use his car to jump ours.

It starts!
We let it run for a while. Turn it off. And turn the key once more.

click-click-click-clickety-click-click...... cliiiiiick
Strange. Very Afraid!

We spend 20 minutes scrubbing more and more corrosion from the battery, feeling hopeless and that we've ruined the wiring in the whole thang.

OK, lets jump it one last time.
TA-DA!!
It starts. we turn it off. It starts again. YAY! we're saved. Silly little thing like corrosion nearly gave me a heart attack!!

So now you know why i dont do blogs. Nothing interesting going on over here!
Seriously.
are you still even reading this?
Okay.
You better go now.
Really.
Ok.
Bye then.
